1. Introduction
These terms govern the rights and obligations between the operator as lessor (the “lessor”) and the customer as lessee (the “lessee”) for the short-term rental of motor vehicles offered by the lessor. The relationship is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, in particular Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code.
2. Reservation and conclusion of contract
Reservations are made via the online form on the lessor’s website. By submitting a reservation the lessee confirms acceptance of these terms. A reservation is non-binding until confirmed by the lessor. The rental contract is concluded upon signing the handover report at pickup.
3. Rental requirements
- Minimum driver age is 21 years.
- The driver must hold a category B licence valid for at least 1 year.
- At pickup the lessee presents a valid ID or passport and a driving licence.
- Only persons named in the rental contract may drive the vehicle.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.
4. Price and payment
Prices are shown per vehicle and in the booking summary. Longer rentals receive a discount (from 3 days 10%, from 7 days 20%). The price includes basic insurance and unlimited mileage. Payment is made on pickup by cash or card unless agreed otherwise. No online prepayment is required.
5. Deposit
Before pickup the lessee pays a refundable deposit depending on the vehicle, shown at booking. It covers possible damage, fines, excess or other claims. After a damage-free return and settlement of any claims, the deposit is refunded in full.
6. Handover and return
The vehicle is handed over clean and with a full tank and returned the same. A handover report records its condition. Returning with an incomplete tank incurs refuelling plus a handling fee. Late return may incur an additional day’s charge. Trips outside the Czech Republic require the lessor’s prior consent.
7. Insurance and liability
Vehicles carry statutory liability and collision insurance. The lessee is liable for the excess. Full insurance with reduced excess is available as an add-on. The lessee is fully liable for damage caused by gross negligence, intent, influence of substances, an unauthorised driver, or breach of these terms, and for fines and penalties incurred during the rental.
8. Cancellation and changes
Cancellation and changes are governed by the separate cancellation policy, an integral part of these terms.
9. Personal data
Processing of the lessee’s personal data is governed by the privacy policy.
10. Final provisions
Consumers have the right to out-of-court dispute resolution via the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (coi.cz). Matters not covered here are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Contact: info@luciancarrental.cz, tel. 728 135 969.
